To help you age gracefully and prevent facial wrinkles and lines from forming on the top portion of your face, Aesthetic Surgery Centre & MedSpa in Tacoma, WA is proud to offer BOTOX to our many patients. This injectable treatment provides outstanding results and is very well-received among both men and women. BOTOX can make a significant improvement on dynamic lines, which are created by expressive movement when the muscles contract on the forehead and around the eyes. The lines disappear as the face relaxes, but dynamic folds can still exist. BOTOX is a clean and purified strain of botulinum toxin (type A) that temporarily blocks the movements of the facial muscle. To soften these dynamic wrinkles, BOTOX is injected to smooth the skin. BOTOX injections are most commonly placed by one of our skilled plastic surgeons or injector nurses between the eyebrows, on the Crow's feet, and across the forehead to achieve comprehensive results.

"I was feeling like I was looking tired, old, and not like myself. After a lot of research and inquiry, I was so incredibly lucky to find Marty!! I felt instantly at ease with her - she is kind, sweet, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable about her craft. After telling her what was bothering me, we worked out a plan. Slow and steady over a couple of appointments (my preference), she expertly transformed my problem areas and turned back the clock on my face! The process was virtually pain and bruise free ( and I'm a bruiser) and the results are beautiful! I couldn't be happier. I will absolutely continue to see her to maintain my results. I cannot recommend her highly enough for anyone who wants a beautiful, natural result. She is a treasure!!"- L.P. / Yelp / Jul 17, 2019

BOTOX is great for individuals who wish to soften the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles on their face without turning to surgery. BOTOX can also be used as a preventive treatment even if you have yet to show any predominant signs of aging — keep in mind how often you tend to make facial expressions. This is a terrific nonsurgical treatment if you are frustrated by forehead wrinkles or parallel lines between the brows. BOTOX could also be a solution for lines around the eyes. If you have deeper markings, however, a filler product may be more suitable to address your concerns. In addition, if you are older with sagging skin and widespread wrinkles, you may be considered for a facelift instead because the surgery offers a more dramatic result and is longer lasting. Aesthetic Surgery Centre & MedSpa also offers eyelid surgeries, facelifts, and brow lifts as great options for those needing to address more significant wrinkles and sagging.
BOTOX treatments are performed as an outpatient procedure conveniently at Aesthetic Surgery Centre & MedSpa. If it is your first time to visit us in Tacoma, WA for BOTOX, we often perform the injection on the same day as your consultation. You will be asked to make different facial expressions using the upper face, such as squinting, frowning, etc., which will allow us to plan where the injections will be placed. The skin will be cleansed and BOTOX will be applied with a fine needle, followed by a cold compress to help lessen swelling, bruising, and discomfort. You can request a numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable, but it generally is unnecessary. BOTOX injections typically take about 10 – 15 minutes. After your treatment, you will be able to resume your normal routine following a short rest.
WHAT TO EXPECT
After the procedure, you can continue on your daily routine, but strenuous activity should be avoided for at least one day. You will be asked to sleep with your head elevated for the first night and to not touch your face, which could accidentally spread the product to other areas throughout the face. The treated areas of the face may appear bruised, swollen, or red for 2 – 3 days, but you will not develop any serious or long-lasting side effects. In many cases, it usually takes about 5 – 7 days before the full effects of BOTOX can be seen. The results usually last 3 – 4 months. You should speak to your injector about when to schedule your next appointment at Aesthetic Surgery Centre & MedSpa to refresh your results.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does BOTOX cost?
The cost of BOTOX will depend on how much product is used. This will vary based on your needs and goals. During your consultation, we will develop your personal treatment plan before we can estimate your costs. BOTOX can produce wonderful results when performed by a skilled plastic surgeon or injector nurse, like those on our team, but it can be unsafe if done by someone without training. This is why it's better to avoid offices that offer cheap or knock-off injections. To save money, ask about the Brilliant Distinctions Rewards Program so you can get points for BOTOX and other Allergan products, like Juvéderm.
How long will my results last?
Your BOTOX results can last up to four months. Most patients schedule an appointment roughly every season (once every three months) to maintain their results, but you may come back sooner if you wish. If you are receiving BOTOX while you're younger as a preventive method, you may be able to schedule treatments further apart. After listening to your goals and developing your treatment plan, we will be able to estimate when you should schedule your next appointment.
What's the difference between wrinkle relaxers and fillers?
Wrinkle relaxers (like BOTOX) and wrinkle fillers (like Juvéderm) are both treatments that reduce wrinkles and smooth fine lines. BOTOX relaxes overused facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, like frown lines (between the eyebrows), Crow's feet (in the outer corners of the eyes), forehead wrinkles, and smile lines. Meanwhile, injectable fillers add volume under the skin to correct hollow areas and decrease static wrinkles. After listening to your goals, we may recommend BOTOX, fillers, or a combination of both for a "liquid facelift."
What's the difference between BOTOX, Dysport, and Xeomin?
BOTOX, Dysport, and Xeomin are brands of wrinkle relaxers that use botulinum toxin (type A). Each of these relaxes facial muscles to correct dynamic wrinkles, but each formula is designed to suit specific areas and needs. There are subtle differences between them, like the dosing amounts, treatment spread, and length of results. Our team will choose the best injection to fit your goals.
Is BOTOX safe?
When used properly, BOTOX rarely causes any complications. With that said, it is important to select someone who has training in handling this medication, like those on our staff. Overusing this injectable can create an undesirable outcome. A skilled practitioner will use just enough of the medication to effectively freeze the muscles that cause wrinkles while leaving nearby muscles unaffected. One of the most popular cosmetic treatments on the market today, BOTOX is both proven safe and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition to its cosmetic uses, BOTOX can also be used to treat medical problems, like facial spasms, excessive sweating, uncontrollable blinking, and migraines.
